Hi,

Solid show as always, gentelmen :D

In regards to the hard-to-find Marvel material, I'm hopeful the four-page stories from the GI Joe Magazine will be reprinted. If you haven't seen the comics, here are some links:
http://joeguide.com/interviews/images/l ... -large.jpg (black and white copy of a color page - apologies for the size)
http://www.yojoe.com/archive/magazines/ ... er85.shtml

On the subject of continuity, I'd like to see IDW continue the series after issue 154 of the Marvel series. It strikes me as rather odd that the Joes would close up shop in #155 given the lack of evidence that Cobra has been stopped, so the story potential from the Marvel run remains immense to me. Plus, I'd like to see some of the remaining plot threads concluded.

IDW did a fantastic job with the adaptation of The Transformers: The Movie (1986), so I would also love to see a miniseries or two based in the Joe-Sunbow universe.

Again, another terrific episode, and I look forward to the next one.

Best,
David Thornton

Great show guys...First time poster, long time listener.

On the IDW subject:
I'm excited to see what they have planned. Although many purests are saying they rather continuity of the marvel books and many others are saying there should be coninuity to the image/ddp run. I'd prefer to see the continuity of the image/ddp run due to the fact I've been reading and following these intently. I think they've done a wonderful job keeping the marvel run alive keeping all issues marvel ever did in mind with all the references to them. I've read every run since the 80s: Mavel, Blackthorne, Darkhorse, Image, and DDP. There were storylines with each company that didn't have continuity to anything and none of them really did very well. Eventhough I grew up reading the marvel runs, I really seem to enjoy the image/ddp runs. There are so many avenues IDW can explore. There was supposed to be a run by a company called Bench Press Studios that had continuity with the marvel run, but they had never finalized the acquisition and never released the book. Hopefully IDW does something that will keep the proper face of G.I. Joe.

On the "hard to find " or "never released in comic book form" subject:
You all mentioned the Starduster origin books from the Action Stars cereal. There was also the Battle Corps mini comic issues that were inserted into figure packages. There's also the Spytroops and Valor vs. Venom mini issues. What about making the cartoon series and movie into comic form? Or as I mentioned above the Bench Press Studios book. There's also the 2 Sgt. Savage vs. General Blitz mini comics or a reissue or rework of the Darkhorse Gi Joe (extreme) books (I know these aren't the joe we all know and love). They could even rework the sigma 6 run and add more tv series continuity.

I could go on forever, so I'm just gonna leave it at that.

Thanx for all you do.

Thanks for your response! You are definitely up to speed on your "hard to find" comic stuff. It will really be interesting to see how deep IDW goes with this.

Well i've been reading since the mid-eighties, eventhough i was introduced originally by the cartoon. i'm actually trying to find some of those issues. i'm really looking foward to seeing whatever they do, as am i kind of afraid since we haven't had a change in a long while.

I was listening to G.I.Joe Review Episode 15 again today while cutting the grass and had a couple of thoughts. If I remember correctly, didn't IDW release a mini-series of the 1986 Transformers Movie? Do you think they will do the same with the 1987 G.I. Joe: The Movie? Could this be included in the "never before released" material mentioned in the interview with IDW?
Also, with all the internet debate on whether they will reboot or follow the Marvel continuity or Marvel/DD continuity, does anyone think that IDW may in fact do both (as in have one series with a brand new continuity and another that picks up after WWIII or perhaps even after Marvel Issue 155?
I'm also VERY curious about Larry Hama's involvment with IDW as well. If anyone knows of any new developments, let me know. Thanks!
